What is RPSC RAS 2026 Examination?
The RPSC RAS (Rajasthan Administrative Service) Examination 2026 is a state-level recruitment test conducted by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), Ajmer. It is held to select eligible candidates for administrative officer posts across various government departments in Rajasthan. The examination is conducted under Advertisement No. 02/2026-27 for a total of 607 vacancies, covering both State Services and Subordinate Services in the state.
The selection process consists of three stages — Preliminary Examination (Objective), Main Examination (Descriptive), and Interview. The Preliminary Examination is scheduled to be held on 06 December 2026, and the Main Examination is scheduled for 01 & 02 May 2027. Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Equivalent qualification recognized by the Government of India.
- Working knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script and Rajasthani culture.
Age Limit (as on 01.01.2027)
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 40 years
- Age relaxation as per Rajasthan Government rules.

Admit Card
- Admit card will be released before the exam on the official website.
- Download using SSO ID and application number.
- Carry a printed copy along with valid photo ID to the exam centre.
Answer Key
The preliminary answer key will be released after the written examination on the official website. Candidates can raise objections within the prescribed time limit with supporting evidence and prescribed fee. Final answer key will be published after reviewing all objections.
Result
The result will be declared on the official website after the written exam. Shortlisted candidates will be called for the Main Examination. Final merit list will be prepared based on Main Exam and Interview performance.

Pay Level: L-10 to L-14 (depending on the post) | Pay Matrix: Rajasthan 7th CPC Pay Matrix
Selected candidates will receive additional allowances including DA, HRA, and other government benefits as per Rajasthan State Government norms.
RPSC RAS Selection Process 2026
The selection process consists of multiple stages. Candidates must clear each stage to be considered for the final merit list.
Preliminary Examination
Objective type, 200 marks, 150 questions. Qualifying in nature. Negative marking of 1/3rd for wrong answers.
Main Examination
Descriptive type, 4 papers, 800 marks. Marks counted for final merit. General Studies and General Hindi & English.
Interview
100 marks Personality Test. Evaluates administrative aptitude, subject knowledge and communication skills.
Final Merit & Selection
Final merit list is prepared based on Main Exam and Interview performance. Selected candidates are appointed in State Services across Rajasthan.
